Kevin Smallwood- Together For Summit Councilmember-at-Large

Kevin Smallwood is running for Common Council At-Large in Summit. A proud resident since 2003, Kevin has built his life in Summit, raising his family, running a business, and dedicating years of service to the community he calls home.

For the past 16 years, Kevin has owned and operated a business in downtown Summit. His two children attended Lincoln-Hubbard School and are now students at Summit High School and the Middle School. He has served on the Summit Downtown Inc. (SDI) Board for seven years, including two years as Chairman and Vice Chairman, and on the Police Athletic League (PAL) Board for six years, including two years as President. Some of his most rewarding experiences have come from coaching youth basketball at the Community Rec Center and for the Summit Basketball Club.

Kevin is a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are invested wisely in projects that strengthen the community and improve quality of life. He also believes deeply in transparency, accountability, and public participation—principles that ensure residents have a clear voice in how decisions are made and resources are allocated.

He is running to represent all of Summit, working with fellow council members and community stakeholders to keep the city vibrant, responsive, and united.
