Don Nelson is running for Summit Common Council in Ward 1. He is a lifelong resident of Summit, New Jersey. Don spent four decades in the Summit Fire Department as a firefighter, with the last six years spent as the Deputy Chief. Don and his wife Rose , also a lifelong Summit resident, have raised their five children here in Summit- all proud graduates of Summit Public Schools. Don is a firm believer in protecting Summit's security by supporting the Resident Protection Ordinance. He also bellieves in prioritizing traffic and pedestrian safety as well as being an advocate of responsible development. The Together for Summit ticket is running for Summit Common Council in Summit New Jersey to make resident safety a priority, reduce crime, fight overdevelopment and be a voice for residents, regardless of political party. They are looking to continue the progress made by last year's Together for Summit ticket currently on Council which includes:

1- Instituting the Resident Protection Ordinance as an extra layer of protection for Summit residents, which was copied by other NJ municipalities
2- Adding two new police officers
3- Creating the Morris Broad Crossroads Overlay Zone at the current firehouse to guard against overdevelopment while generating revenue for the city.

Together For Summit Ticket Is Asking To Continue The Progress

Summit mayoral candidate David Naidu doesn't respect the residents of Summit, New Jersey. He said at a Summit Common Council meeting that he knows some residents find him condescending and he doesn't care. David Naidu also said stealing a political lawn sign is worse than stealing an automobile. Summit, New Jersey simply can't afford to elect David Naidu as Mayor. Vote Dr. Elizabeth Fagan for Summit Mayor to have the voice of all Summit residents heard.
